The Iraq Marshlands Restoration Program is a two year effort which supports the restoration of the ecosystem through improved management and strategic reflooding and provides social and economic assistance to the local population. These two tracks – environmental and developmental – are necessarily integrated, reflecting the historic harmony of the marshlands and their indigenous population.
